The
Museum of Future Art is a virtual museum gathering descriptions
of works of art which will never exist. And if one day they should exist,
they would not cease to appear in the Museum of Future Art, because their
value is not based in their achievement, but in the idea itself.
Scouring the museum rooms with your mouse and clicking on the empty frames,
you will be able to read the written art works sent by Internet surfers.
The descriptions and narration have the power to multiply the image, spreading
it without limits and replacing it with the fading uniqueness of the mental
image created by the reader. The problem of reproducing the image disappears
because the non-materialised image will never be compared and will remain
unique in the viewer's mind.
Space, time, and copyright disappear to be replaced with the reader's
imagination that will visualise the work of art as he pleases. The same
story will produce different images, because it is read by different people.
Moreover, the reader himself upon a second reading, will create more visions
in his mind.
Of course, your work of art too will be exhibited: read it again, polish
it and send it via e-mail to info@futuart.com.
We are planning to exhibit the best stories in the 2nd part of Future
Art History.
To see your story hanging on the Museum walls, you don't need to have
any kind of artists or writers licence, you will not be asked to have
participated to exhibitions or to have published books. In short, we are
not interested in public recognition, the only thing we are asking you
is to have nursed imagination inside yourself. Our museum (and when we
say our we are also saying it on your behalf) is small but stubborn and
it floats, suspended like a spider, in its web meshes, delighting in your
e-mails and the warm rays of your imagination.
